Biggest Markets

The markets that generated the most revenue during
Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2019.

Germany

The fifth biggest market, and the third largest European market, was Germany.

Germany generated just under 7% of the total revenue during Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2019, and narrowly missed out on the fourth place spot.

If you're planning on selling to an international market like Germany for Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2020, remember to localise your website and ads to give you the best chance at success.

Germany

United Kingdom

The fourth biggest market last year was the United Kingdom.

It’s also the second largest English speaking market on this list.

The United Kingdom managed to generate just over 7% of the total GMV during Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2019.

That’s an impressive stat, especially when you consider the number of people living in the market.

We predict that the United Kingdom will also be one of the best markets to target during Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2020 too.

France

France earned the title of the third biggest market during Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2019.

It was also the biggest European market too, pipping the United Kingdom and Germany to the post.

France narrowly missed out on taking the second biggest market position, even though it generated a 58% increase in revenue over the weekend.

Overall, it’s a fantastic option if you’re looking to expand your brands reach in Europe during the shopping holiday.

Remember though, you’ll have the best chance at getting conversions if your marketing campaigns are in French, when you’re targeting France.

Brazil

Brazil, another ecommerce giant, was the second biggest market during Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2019.

The market generated a huge amount of revenue over the weekend, but it still only amounted to around 25% of what the #1 market generated.

If you do try to target Brazil for Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2020, remember to translate any campaigns that you’re running into Brazilian Portuguese, otherwise it’ll be tough to get conversions.

United States

The USA was the #1 market by far during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend in 2019.

In fact, the United States accounted for more than 40% of the total GMV generated by Oberlo users during this period.

That’s huge. And we expect the USA to perform very well for Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2020 too.

After all, the United States is one of the biggest ecommerce markets on the planet, and entrepreneurs from all corners of the globe will be targeting the destination.
